Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

All

I have this working as a pure field-hiding plugin now on my local install. Doesn’t touch the field values or field labels now, so you’ll be able to use it with unmodified txp:(if_)custom_field tags.

It needs some cleanup and a few other changes but I hope to have something ready early next week.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

Steve and all others, I had 10 mins to quickly go through this thread and yes, I will be looking into integrating Steve’s plugin into glz_custom_fields 1.x IF Steve is OK with this. (Steve, give me a shout mate).

v2 might be while, if a quick integration is possible and Steve is OK, hey, why not?

Gerhard

no problem. Feel free to get in contact if you need any info.

I do think I’ll keep developing this now though — I deliberately kept the word ‘custom’ out of the title to give it more scope as a per-section field control plugin.

redbot, mrdale

Here’s how my local sections interface is looking presently…

Not started work on any other hiding aspects yet.

wow, another good news!

I will be looking into integrating Steve’s plugin into glz_custom_fields 1.x

Thank you Gerhard! Both plugins are fantastic by themselves so an integration will result in something spectacular

OK, just got in touch with Steve, first impressions are good, shouldn’t be that difficult to get the code together ; ).

All

Take two is available now. Link is in the head post.

Sorry, no time to develop this further as of yet but there is an added sweetener for those using the MLP pack. <grin>

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

Steve,
It’s working wonderfully. Also your planned features are really appreciated.
I must say I always use ied_hide_in_admin (which is working well for me) but having the possibility to choose which elements to hide on a per-section-basis would make a big difference.
Just a minor request: will it be possible to hide also other elements (status, categories, sections and excerpt) in the “write tab” just like ied_hide_in_admin does?
I noticed also – as expected – that the plugin still conflicts with glz_custom_fields (if both plugins are active glz_custom_fields works and sed_section_fields doesn’t).
Yes, I know sed_section_fields is going to be integrated in glz_custom_fields (and this is a good news) but I would have preferred the two plugins could coexist together so they can have an indipendent development.
Anyway I know I’m asking too much: this is still one of the best plugin of the year (together with glz_custom_fields) IMHO so thank you for your work, I’m sure it will be really appreciated by many.
Cheers
