cant connect to database
Hi I am using a clients existing cheap hosting package to install a txp site. The host uses cpanel which made it easy to create a database but i cant connect to it.
heres the error:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user ‘aras_db’@‘localhost’ (using password: YES) in /home/arasgcc/public_html/textpattern/setup/index.php on line 195
Can’t connect to database

After doing a search on the forum here and it looks like maybe i have to use some other server path to the txpattern install besides local host?
All I have in that department is this info:
cpanel url
URL: http://arasgcc.com:2082
Alternative URL: http://yaggie.flexihostings.net:2082
The host has no contact or support at all.
Is there anyway i can trouble shoot and find the correct server path myself?
If that is the problem.

Perhaps the database doesn’t exist yet or the password is incorrect.

did you check that you are using the right db name?

is there a way to tell what the exact error is.

did you check that you are using the right db name?
yes im using the name that i just created thats listed in cpanel.

If I’m not mistaken cpanel creates databases with names like username_dbname, so if you enter a db name ‘username_’ will always be added as a prefix. And you have to use the full name when installing txp.
