Hotlinking protection in TXP?

Is there any addon for this, or at the very least can someone give me good code to use and where to put it in the .htaccess? I’ve tried a few I found on google, but none of them work. I’m also not very good with PHP, but I notice that TXP downloads work off some kind of redirect (/file_download/2 redirecting to the actual .rar file, or whatever)… so does that bypass the .htaccess rules? I’d assume not.
