Troubleshooting transfer to new server
I am just upgrading my server, so have:
- transfered files from one ftp directory to another
- changed txpath in config.php to new document root with textpattern subfolder. Passwords and user names remain same
sql database will remain the same
Am getting error message when look at new url:
Warning: extract(): First argument should be an array in /home/.sites/90/site11/web/textpattern/publish.php on line 53
Have looked at publish.php file on old server and is exactly the same as the file on the new server.
This is the only error message left [have sorted loads already] so hopefully when sorted this out I’ll be sorted.
Would really like help on this one as I’ve got to get rid of the resultant throbbing – my brain really hurts.
Thanks in anticipation.
Cheers
Tim

Is your txp_prefs table empty or missing?

Re: Troubleshooting transfer to new server
The txp_prefs table is still in the sql database. I am still using this database for the original site on the original server and this site is working fine.

Re: Troubleshooting transfer to new server
Look inside the txp_prefs table, there should be rows which have “1” in the “prefs_id” column. The error you get indicates that none such rows were found in the txp_prefs table. Try switching to debug mode on the admin/preferences tab.

Re: Troubleshooting transfer to new server
I’ve just been told by the hosting company – easily that I now need to load sql database on to new server, despite saying earlier I didin’t. After two days they have finally got round to giving me access to the new sql database to import the databases. The home page now appears on the new server, although the other pages do not. I’ll have to work out how to sort this, but many thanks for all your help so far.
