I am having some problems trying to style the search forms with the tags your plugin has,
is it posible to update this in the next version?
Maybe I am missing something but cant do much right now.
Is someone using the search functions? the plugin help says:
-Also provides capability to search by section and category, they default to checkboxes and cannot be changed.
I have never been able to display those checkboxes at all.
Anyone seeing this?

I have a question. I built an Image Gallery.
To pull in all images from certain category I use a custom_field where the one enters the category name. This means there is room for human error.
What i’d like to do is have a pulldown-select option instead of a custom_field that shows me ALL the available images categories. Obviously i want this custom field to automatically retrieve all the possible image categories and get updated if extra categories are added. Can this plugin do this?

I don’t think so. That would be fantastic and was already requested but I don’t think it will be implemented even in v 1.3 (of course I hope I’m wrong).

oddly enough this was the exact reason i purchased glz_custom_fields almost 2 years ago in the first place. there was supposed to be “trigger” words like |Image Categories| added to the plugin which would allow a dropdown of your current categories. this has yet to see the light of day..
edit: completely forgot how much i hate textile bq’s on this board :P

Someone is testing it for me now, there aren’t many changes though – just a new special custom set, Date Picker. It has 0 configurability, that’s what I want to implement before releasing it to the public.

I started only researching into how I can implement the functionality that I need without patching TXP, haven’t written any code yet.

What problems are you facing? I have this code producing the following output.
In the above example you can see how those Section & Category checkboxes are output as well.

David, Steve & redbot (I always keep forgetting your real name – can’t find it in my e-mails either!), you are wrong :).
Steve, you are right, this has been mentioned ages ago, I should have implemented it by now. The Date Picker is done for v1.2.1, the Image Selector will be done for v1.2.2 which isn’t very far off. I have the logic sorted, the Date Picker was a nice dent, it’s just writing the code :).

I think I found a bug. I get an error where the CF should be if I delete a previously created custom field. Can’t find any reference to the CF in the database. The only way I’ve found to fix this is to leave fields active and hide them with sed_section_fields. Here’s teh error:

Sorry for the confusion : ). No, the Image Category selector is not currently available in glz_custom_fields.
The publicly available version is v1.2. In v1.2.1 which I’m still polishing off, the first special custom field, the Date Picker, is already available. In v1.2.2, I will implement further special categories: File Category, Image Category & Link Category (because they all go together). I couldn’t give you an ETA on v1.2.2, but it’s going to happen soon – cracking the first special custom field was the difficult part.
