search file comments too

Hi,
the standard search in Txp just searches articles- we have a lot of pdfs available for download on our site with descriptions in the files’ comment fields – I’m sure a bit o’ custom php will output the results from the files table too- can anyone give me a starter (don’t mind if we have to have a separate input field to search downloads- doesn’t have to integrate with the usual search field…)

Look at how the <txp:file_download_list /> tag works (in /textpattern/publish/taghandlers.php) and how <txp:article /> tag handles searches (in /textpatterh/publish.php).

Can you extend the “search” function to searching comments on articles too?
