How to edit site author data

Hi,

I’ve recently set up Google Alerts to give me info about the latest pages relating to certain keywords. The page descriptions that I get in the emails from the service generally look like this:

Title (linked to page)
Author name
Site Description
Site Description
Site title & url (linked to site)

These emails also throw up some of the pages on my Textpattern site. However, when these are shown, my name always appears in brackets after the author name – unlike how any of the other pages are shown and even if I am also the author of the page. E.g.

Title (linked to page)
Author name (My name)
Site Description
Site Description
Site title & url (linked to site)

I guess this is something to do with how Textpattern sets/stores the author data. Where can I set the name which appears in brackets following the author’s name.

This has nothing really to do with Google Alerts, but that’s the only place I’ve had an example of this behaviour so far.

Any help is much appreciated – thanks.

Nope. It is how you’ve marked up your pages/forms: chances are you have author meta tags on individual articles, but not specified manually for other cases.

Re: How to edit site author data

Hi Mary,

Thank you very much for your response, I’m sorry it’s taken me sooo long to reply – I’ve only just got back around to this. I can’t seem to find any author meta tags anywhere on the site though – not on article pages or others. Is there anything else I can do to avoid this issue?

Many thanks.
