Visitor logs don't work

This is actually an ancient problem for me.

My 4.0.5 does not collect any visitor logs. (Yes, they are turned on.) Neither did my 4.0.4. Versions before that did collect logs.

Anyone have any ideas what causes this/how I can fix it?

Do you have the number of days in Admin>Preferences>Advanced>Logs expire after how many days?

I have tried various numbers over the years. Currently it is 31 days.

Thank you, Mary! That cracked it.

Back in the day, I used the LXS_Logs plug-in. ( http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=11820&p=1 ). For whatever reason, I didn’t like it and I used the uninstaller to safely remove everything two years ago. But it made a permanent change to the database.

I REinstalled LXS_Logs and everything is working again.
