PHP Developer - Architecture Media - Melbourne, Australia only

Our rapidly growing publishing organization requires a talented, passionate self-motivated person to be part of a dynamic team working on an expanding network of websites.

You will be involved in • developing our websites and associated applications including content management systems, e-commerce and email marketing tools • writing requirement specifications and other development documentation • liaising directly with internal and external staff and IT service providers • online testing and end-user support • some computer network and administration support.

The position is permanent full-time and is based at our Port Melbourne office in Melbourne, Australia. Melbourne based developers only need apply.

To be successful you will have:
  • 2-3 years of commercial experience with object oriented development in PHP including PHP4 to PHP5 migration.
  • Advanced skills in design and development of relational database, particularly using MySQL.
  • Experience designing online based B2B applications applying relevant usability guidelines.
  • Experience with customisation and use of the open-source content management systems (CMS).
  • A solid grounding in W3C standard XHTML and CSS design and development.
  • Familiarity with the latest e-commerce, email and web technologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with the following is highly desirable:
  • High level JavaScript coding including various AJAX Libraries.
  • PEAR Libraries and Smarty Templates.
  • PERL language.
Some exposure to the following will be useful:
  • Photoshop/Illustrator/Acrobat.
  • RSS/XML/XSLT development.
  • Windows network (Server and Exchange Server) and desktop support.
  • Mac network and desktop support.
  • Apache server configuration (mainly using .htaccess).
  • Unix shell.
  • Access and mssql.

Relevant educational qualifications will be highly regarded.
