moved domains - frontpage displays articles, but links all broken

i’ve moved my site (http://draggedup.co.uk) to a new host, and after editing the config file for the new database the front page displays correctly, and i can post new articles, but all the links are broken; the link in the article name, the links in the sidebar to sections. i’ve tried using absolute links (eg the link to the “about” section is “http://draggedup.co.uk/about”, rather than “/about”) but this has made no difference.

when i post a new article it displays on the front page, but the link in the article title still doesn’t work, so i don’t think it is the same problem as listed further down. the link to the textpattern 404 page isn’t working either, as you will see if you click on any of the links.

i installed textpattern about a year ago, and it’s worked fine, so i haven’t really done much lately and am a bit rusty. any ideas.

thanks a lot for any help.

did you also change the paths in Admin>Preferences>Advanced
Also are you sure that the new host supports clean urls?
I would temporarily change the url-scheme to messy and check if the site works that way

yeah, i had changed the paths in the advanced page. changing to “messy” urls in site preferences allows the articles to display, thanks. trouble is it’s still using “clean” urls for the sections in the sidebar – where do i change that?

thanks a lot for your help and astonishingly quick response.

Each site is different…
the sitebar sections might be hard coded either in a template or a form…

Thanks for this. got round it by editing all the hardcoded clean urls in the forms. the bit i was struggling with was how to refer to sections in a messy link, but i found it in the end.

thanks again for the help. much appreciated.
