Organizing content
I’ve 3 projects for medium-sized businesses underway that I thought would be well-suited for Textpattern. I could use a hand working out how to organize the content within the Textpattern model.
Two of them are traditional static page sites with a limited number of pages planned. There will only be two levels of navigation: section and section page(s). It seems to me that I can do this relatively easily with the help of the rdt_dynamenus plugin which allows me to have a main navigation based on the sections and a section aware secondary navigation based on its articles.
The third is also a mostly static page site. This one, though, has a third level of navigation needed—some sections will need sub-sections. I don’t see how I can organize Textpattern to allow for nested sections, but I think I can make things work by using section specific categories. Ideally, I’d like to run the section specific menu so that it displays a nested list of categories and category articles. I’m not certain how to make this happen.
Finally, all three sites will make use of a more dynamic news and events section, where a more blog-like organized by date structure will be followed. I’ll pull the news headlines into a sidebar on the front page, but have seen examples of how to do that.
Is there a better way to approach organizing these projects to work with Textpattern?
