Random characters in Templates & Forms
At least half the time I save a page template after editing it and occasionally when I save a form there will be characters inserted or changed in said template or form after the save. Specifically this:
In page templates I get & or &ot or &uot inserted at the very beginning of the template immediately before <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC…
In page templates and forms I get double quotes ( “ ) and greater than signs ( > ) randomly changed to semicolons.
As you can imagine, it makes clicking the save button a very nervous act.
This happens on both of my Textpattern sites.
The Diagnostics on both say everything is fine.
I am using Safari 3 for Mac (but it happened with Safari 2 as well.)
I just tried and couldn’t make this problem happen in Firefox.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is it a Safari issue or a Textpattern issue?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Happens for me too, and only from the Safari Beta 3. Its a bug (don’t know why or how) and I only see it in Safari. Not a TXP issue….

Re: Random characters in Templates & Forms
Have you guys asked about/told the Safari people? We wouldn’t want the bug to get overlooked and become a problem in a stable version of the browser.

I’ve switched to Firefox for editing my sites.
I reported a bug to Apple
Thanks for your help, Mr jstubbs
