Stop indexing by search engines while debug or testing
May be it’s nice idea to tell search engines not to index my site while it is in debug or testing mode. Sometimes this status hangs for months and it will be pitty to find site by strange search queries…
Is me idea clear?

That isn’t a good idea, especially ‘debug’ so I don’t think it would be a good idea to encourage the practise.
If you want to do that anyway, use robots.txt.

Re: Stop indexing by search engines while debug or testing
@Mary, I believe Victor was referring to the search engines retaining the debugged data for an extended period of time. As far as I know, there is no general way of telling all search engines to “come back later”. There are ways of letting google know how frequently to check your site, but I am not aware if the other engines have similar mechanisms.
Perhaps if the site could recognize a few of the various crawlers and override the setting so the response would be live mode.
