Creating a Personalized Extranet

I’m looking at a couple of projects, and both them have similar requirements.

Admin

• create records that include file links
• create groups of web site visitors. (a group could be for a company, and then individual user accounts for each employee.)
• assign selected records to selected groups
• see logs of which logged-in users have viewed which resources

Web Site Visitor

• sign in to authenticate
• view the records that have been assigned to their group
• post comments and ratings for only the records that have been assigned to their group
• probably should not have access to the admin panel at all

Overall purposes:

• online proofing app – to proof ads before they are published.
• B2B portal – one company providing selected resources to many other companies.

I’m sure Textpattern can do this, but from what I’ve seen so far, I’m probably looking at writing a plugin.

Are there any specific plugins that already exist that would get me pretty close? Or any thoughts on steps I should take?
