Most Commonly Commented Articles
Hello,
This had been discussed somewhat before, but I still can not quite get this implemented.
The only (seemingly) viable option that I have found to do what I want is the dru_chatometer plugin. Unfortunately, I can not get this plugin to actually output any information. Possibly since it uses messy URLs, and my site uses clean URLs? I’ve tried using it here, to no avail.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to output a list of the most commented articles in my archive. It’s a seemingly simple thing, and I really surprised there’s no common implementation of this in Textpattern. I have found solutions for other CMS, but so far none for Textpattern.
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

The top 5 commented articles:
<txp:article_custom sort="comments_count desc" limit="5" />

Re: Most Commonly Commented Articles
Mary,
Thanks!
That’s very close to what I want, but I would like to display a list of the article titles and thumbnails of article images if possible. Currently, it is outputting the entire article body… is there any way to show only the title, or even better the title and a thumbnail?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Most Commonly Commented Articles
Sure. Just make a new article form that does what you want, and have the tag call that form (if you don’t specify one, the one named ‘default’ is used).

WOW!
So, after all that searching it was seemingly so simple. Textpattern had it built in all along.
Thanks a whole lot, Mary. That did the trick exactly.
I can’t tell you how much frustration you’ve put an end to.
Thanks!
