problems with search page

Ive created a search section and corresponding page to display search results

Heres the search input in the header form.
<div id="keyword"> <txp:search_input section="search" wraptag="p" button="go" /> </div>

Here the form on my search results page.
…
<p><txp:search_result_excerpt /></p>

…

Other things i’ve check:
production status=live
all sections are set to include in site search
in admin>> content>> articles a title and body search using keywords works fine

If i search for “centre” this url is returned
http://nwtc.ie/index.php?q=centre

But here is the search results section:
http://nwtc.ie/index.php?s=search

I dont understand?

<p><txp:search_result_excerpt /></p> needs to be inside an article form, and called in your page by the article tag.

k thanks i put search_result_excerpt inside a article form like this:

<h3><txp:permlink><txp:title /></txp:permlink></h3> <p><txp:search_result_excerpt /></p>

Here is the article tag that calls it in the search page:
<txp:article form="search_results" />

still dosnt work.

Okay, this looks correct.

Now to figure out why the form isn’t working properly. Would you post your “High” diagnostics results please?

Hmm. I don’t see any mod_rewrite trickery. The plugins you’re using wouldn’t do that either.

Well, the following should work, though it doesn’t explain why the tag isn’t working properly.
