Category name in a list of articles

I’m trying to get the name of the category to show up in the list of articles. The two categories are news and press releases. Both are set up to be listed when visitors hit the News page. I am trying to find a way to differentiate between what is a news article and what is a press release. For example:

May 22, 2007 : News : Article Title
May 21, 2007 : Press Release : Article Title
May 20, 2007 : News : Article Title
May 19, 2007 : Press Release : Article Title
May 18, 2007 : Press Release : Article Title

but for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to get the articles respective category to show up in the list. Is this possible? If so, what little thing am I missing here?

If you’re only using category1 -> insert <txp:category1 /> in the article form used to display that list of articles.
