1 userlist Authors, 2nd userlist Customers?
I was asked to design a website for company offering free and paid services to people. Don’t go check out my site, i’m a bit lazy at designing, though i was planning to change that.
The main problem which is raised here though, doesn’t have much to do with graphical design, though with access design.
Currently, Textpattern as a list of “Authors”, who can have a privilege from None to “Publisher”.
Now, what they want is that their customers can login to the site, and have specific rights depending on their type of membership. For example, Customer1 has the right to look at numbers and graphs, while Customer2 can even download statistics.
The problem here is that Textpattern standard has only 1 list of users, and they must be kind of writers, Authors.
So is it possible to make a 2nd list of users, where the second list has dirrent rights then Publishing, Freelancer, etc?
It does kinda refer to http://textpattern.com/..multiple-weblogs but i’d like to have one site, with 2 userlists, who both see different stuff.
Hell, they don’t even need to be able to have an area where they can set stuff, can be just a login-required section or page.
Thanks in advance!

Non-privilaged users are not authors, they cannot access any of the Txp admin, cannot even login.
That said, there are also plugins available for this sort of thing. Check the resources site.
