My personal Textpattern site

Greetings,

I have a few Textpattern sites floating around out there, but this is my personal site. I’ve gotten good feedback about the design so I thought I’d share:

Beautiful, plus a very interesting read. As a sidenote: You might want to fix your footer link => 404.

Re: My personal Textpattern site

Hi Paula, very nice site, i will add it to the gallery on TXP Mag.
How did you achieve the main content sliding over the background imag?

PS very interesting reads .. i was nearly shocked about your story (christianity)

Re: My personal Textpattern site

Thanks all! I’m really surprised at how many people from the txp forum have come by.

wet> yikes, I don’t know what I did there, will fix as soon as I have a free moment.

alexandra> yeah, my christianity thing is stranger than most, but not all that uncommon in America. Lots of people have their lives ruined by fundamentalist Christianity.

As for the site, the sliding background thing is actually very easy. The drawing is a body background set to scroll:fixed, and the main content wrapper div has a margin-top of 200 pixels (or whatever, I forget the exact pixel count now). So, the content just slides over the drawing. I had to give the wrapper div a background, otherwise the drawing would be visible underneath everything.

A beautiful site. The fixed-position header is something I hadn’t seen before — made me do a double-take!

Re: My personal Textpattern site

I think the header looks neat too. Now what if you had some open spots in the main content area and as you scrolled down…the header pic would show as your scroll down in those areas. 2 layer site. hmm interesting.

Regarding the site. Looks good.
