Open for work.

It started two years ago, and now its official.
I’m pursuing full time web design/development.
I’ve been working for a non-profit for almost 2 years, and all the while my skill set has been growing, as it continues to. So, I’ve decided to take the plunge.

As I’m raising my antennas for job opps, I thought I’d raise them here in a place that has become some kind of web classroom/living room for me over the last two years.

I’m following several job boards already, but should anyone come across anything web design or front-end development rated, let me know.

Thanks good TXPeeps

Make sure you check out the 37 Signals Board and Authentic Jobs Just subscribe to the feeds.

I found my current position through 37 Signals. I also highly recommend joining as many web design oriented local user groups as you can.

Thanks Hak,
I’ve done the first of your pieces of advice (job pile encompasses them all).

The second is a good idea as well :)

Re: Open for work.

Matthew, I’ll contact you offline, as I have a couple of design projects (i.e. I need a logo and a design for one or more of my sites).

I find looking at job boards as confusing as picking a CMS to use.

I don’t see why more projects don’t have a page on their main site for approved contractors, persons that are proven to work reliably with System X. My reasoning is that if I like Textpattern, then I’m going want to find someone well versed in it’s intricacies, the same with a forum like PunBB or any other system for that matter.

Why pick a Mambo person to work on a Wordpress site?

Re: Open for work.

Good luck and lots of paying clients, Matthew. You deserve it, I know for sure.

PS: What about amending your forum profile to point to your new and shiny business website?
