A List Apart: first annual survey: Web designers

Small but interesting survey about us. The more people answer, the better the results will be.

Re: A List Apart: first annual survey: Web designers

I stopped when I had to mark my ethnicity as “other”. Why even ask?

I would assume it is to assess what population of races are making up the web design community that is taking the survey? Maybe one could use that data to point to a lack of web field exposure to certain ethnicities? Guessing.

Re: A List Apart: first annual survey: Web designers

Yah, I assumed its so they can say such and such a percentage of web developers are visible minorities. It just seems silly to list out Asian, Blacks and Hispanics, and stop there. If you are South Asian, Middle Eastern, African, etc you all show up as a percentage point in “other”.

Re: A List Apart: first annual survey: Web designers

The results should be interesting. Some of the questions could have been better designed though.

I remember reading they used Ruby on Rails -based at some point. So.. a home cooked one?
