The Voice of Ra is now running Textpattern
I just switched my blog, The Voice of Ra over to Textpattern from WordPress (the import of entries was very smooth & slick, btw).
It’s easy to install. It’s simplicity is deceptive…when so many blog systems out there either are tooo barebones or try making themselves the “be all, end all” of blogging tools, Textpattern – at least to me – is a good balance.
Though it’s not a totally vanilla install, I am using a select few plugins:
Simpla Theme (I will be adjusting it some, with my graphic logo, color tweaks, etc) I went ahead and did my own 3 column CSS, based on the one at Glish
ajw-comment-alt
rss-admin-quikpik (unclutters the interface. I like that)
rss-admin-show-adv-opts (I usually post via MarsEdit, but the times that I do use the browser interface, this is handy).
the_video (I’d used something similar with wordpress. sure makes inserting videos a breeze!)
tru_tags (for technorati tags)
upm-date-archive (I did modify this slightly so that the output of the months is side-by-side instead of appearing as list items in my sidebar (visit my site and you’ll see what I’m talking about).
