So Long Textpattern!
After pushing the limits of what is possible in TXP, I finally woke up to the fact that all the effort I was putting into twisting this great piece of software to my needs would be better spent rolling my own solutions. I am in the process of rewriting a few of my projects in Ruby on Rails and I am amazed how little code it takes to get the same functionality.
At this point, there is really no turning back, yet I still have a soft spot for everyone’s favorite light-weight CMS. Its what got me into server-side programming and totally opened up a new world for me. I’d like to extend a huge thanks to all of you who contributed so much, not only to the software, but to my own personal growth as a developer. Thanks for the plugins, the wise advice and occasional belly laugh. I will miss you guys!
Best of luck, and may all your TXP dreams come true.

I’m glad you found a way (and have the knowledge) to achieve the functionality you need in another way. Pity though…
Good luck and don’t forget TXP!

Re: So Long Textpattern!
Thanks guys!
I will definitely pop in from time to time to say hello.
As for the facelift, I am still down to do it once Team TXP reaches final stages of HTML for crockery’s admin. Heck, most of the work is really done.. GIFs are sliced and CSS is pretty much set. Keep me posted yall.
Till next time, much <txp:love />

So long Ace,
Great to have you around for the past year. Your input for the txp interface is greatly appreciated
Best of luck with your new Ruby program. will it be an open source one?

Re: So Long Textpattern!
I hope you run everything on a dedicated server. Thats my only issue with Rails. Running any application on shared hosting generally results in much slower performance than other options.
Please try Textpattern for Aptana

Cheers colak! Right now I am working on several projects, from which may spring an open source solution for e-commerce. I will definitely keep yall posted.
@Nichod,
I gave up on shared hosts a long time ago. It’s all about the VPS!

Yeah. I know. Seeing as I have quite a few websites. I really should do that myself.
