Breadcrumbs and archives

Hi,

My template design is close to being finished, but I’m hoping someone can help with the bits and pieces left over.

First, a link:

I have made a small addition to the breadcrumb trail on the press release; the year is now present. I’ve created this link in the navigation bar as well. What I am wondering is this: how do I make those links “stick” in the url? Clicking on it once will bring up the first page of articles for that year, but clicking on Older or Newer articles (pgs. 2 and on) reverts the link back to just all Archive items. Can the year be properly shoehorned into the links?

Similarly, looking at the pages, are there any navigations links I should add to increase navigation for the user? Your thoughts are appreciated.
