feeback on recently redesigned site

Hi everyone,

I’m very curious to hear your thoughts regarding my personal sites re-design.

A screenshot of the old site design is to be found here

Fire away :)

I think it looks good. The header could stand to be a little shorter, but other than that nice layout.

I try to keep the riff-raff out ;)

Seriously, I’ve moderating this forum for a while and most of the posts in the threads happen if someone notices a mistake on the linked to site.

Also, if you add some verbiage to the original post, what you did to arrive at your design, plugins used, tweaks to the backend, etc., this usually draws more interest in the thread.

Ok, I’ll bite… I was one of the 46, and I agree, it’s a very nicely designed and implemented site. The little doo-dads underneath the photos here and there are a nice touch, and I like your banner.

Re: feeback on recently redesigned site

I wasn’t one of them … but here is my reationale when or when not to comment.

1. i don’t like at all… i tend not to comment…
2. when something is just gorgeous … i join the bandwagon… and comment
3. when someone does something that pushes text pattern … i comment
4. when someone comments on my let’s see yours … i may reciprocate
5. if i feel i can add value … i comment… and only if i like the design
6. if uses some base template from some gallery… i tend not to comment

Re: feeback on recently redesigned site

Now that’s what I call response :)

Here is a list of my used plugins

I also used a .htc file to get the li:hover attribute work in MSIE 6.

I still encounter some problems with the slimbox in MSIE 6 & 7 on pages with shorter content than the screens height. It seems like the dark overlay is just filling about 10px on top of the screen. I have asked this question in the plugin-thread but if anyone knows the answer to this…. pleeease show me :)

Re: feeback on recently redesigned site

wow … that’s allot of plugins … one day i will use them i still feel it’s like cheating (i know get over it)… i view textpattern like a view mysql… a small language but if you search hard enough there are ways to do things you never thought …

btw:
congrats on being in most inspired
