Extracting html data from an external website

Hi!

I’m building a website for my football team, and I’d like to automatically sync the current rankings with the official web source (national football association) – having to insert them manually each week is a lot of work, and unfortunately they haven’t yet implemented a nice RSS feed which I could then use as a source.

I was wondering if it is somehow possible to extract/parse the contents of the external documents’ HTML table to use the contents on my own site. Maybe with a server-side or client-side script or a combination of both? I wouldn’t know where to start.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings, Jan

jan, do a Google search for screen scrapers and see which one would work for you.

Thanks very much Bert, I haven’t tried it yet but it looks like a solution for me!
