Articles Versioning
Hi,
I often modify my articles by adding content, or by modifying the structure, or …
I would like to know if like in the best wikis it is possible to keep track of the changes i make. This is a basic functionality i do not manage to obtain with TXP.
I am sorry if this question has already been solved; but i could not get an answer searching the forum.
For example, i should be able to view the different versions of an article; what have been modified, when, and by who (my references in this domain are MoinMoin and Drupal).
Thank you,
Stéphane.

Re: Articles Versioning
Here is a post on the wiki which points to forum threads that discuss this very topic.
Oh and a good way to search the forum is to use google like so:
site:forum.textpattern.com article versioning

Thank you for the google trick.
So according to what i could read on this post, wiki functionalities are still a project. I will check the forum threads for news.

Re: Articles Versioning
Just found this thread as I was searching for ways to manage changes with Textpattern. I’ve read through the various posts discussing the plan to implement some type of version control, but it appears this features is in the planning/discussion stages. Is that correct?
I’m curious – how are other developers managing version control in Textpattern? What methods have you used, what worked, what didn’t?
What recommendations do you have for someone who has just started using Textpattern and wants the ability to maintain versions of previous content on pages/forms?

Re: Articles Versioning
I’m automatically creating daily backups of the entire database. If I want to retrieve an old version I can pull it from an backup. Restoring just a single form/article/page is not really user friendly, but it works. And it’s recommended to create regular backups even if revision control was implemented in TXP.

Re: Articles Versioning
Thanks. I have the database backed up, but was curious about version control within Textpattern. I am still learning about content management systems, but had understood that one of their key benefits was version control.
Is version control common with other CMS, like Drupal, Wordpress (which some consider a blogging application, not a true CMS), CMS Made Simple, etc.?
