4.04 update corrupts my css

My site was working fine until I just updated to 4.04.
Now there’s a strange problem with css, which you can see at this page here – notice how it’s mostly a central column of three thumbnails.

It shouldn’t be 3, it should arrange the thumbnails into rows of 4 – thats what 4.03 used to do.

Any ideas? Any changes in 4.04 that would explain this, and is there a simple way I can resolve it in my css?

Many thanks!

Edit: I’m also getting a “clean_url_test_failed” diagnostic error. Probably not related, but worth mentioning….

Re: 4.04 update corrupts my css

Hmmm.

Don’t know what I’m doing, but with trial and error I’ve done this – changed A to B:

A

div#wrapper {
position: relative;
padding: 0 4%;
clear: both;
width: 92%;

B

div#wrapper {
position: relative;
padding: 0 4%;
clear: both;
width: 95%;

And it seems to have worked, although now not all the thumbnails are vertically aligned – odd.

But is that alteration OK?

Edit: nope, it isn’t: it messes up some of the text layout on my font page……
The odd thing is, this change occured in the 4.03 to 4.04 upgrade. Anyone know why this happened and what the solution is?

Edit (2): OK finally I’ve managed to correct this, I think, although I don’t understand the css adjustment I made and what implications it has. But why did this happen, in the 4.04 upgrade? – odd.

The update doesn’t change your stylesheet(s), it doesn’t even touch them. Don’t know why it happened but it wasn’t the upgrade monkeying with the stylesheet.

Hmm, odd. It actually happened twice – first time, I reverted back to 4.03 because of plug in problems. When I reverted back, the problem disappeared.

Re: 4.04 update corrupts my css

James,

I’d suggest capturing the XHTML and CSS output before and after updating, and comparing the two. Also try validating both. The most likely cause is a difference in the XHTML output of a Textpattern tag.

Re: 4.04 update corrupts my css

OK, but what’s the XHTML output?
Hopefully, anyway, this won’t happen agian in the future…..

XHTML output = page source

As in “View Source” in your browser.
