Links?

This is my site.

http://www.complaintcentral.net/textpattern404/index.php

And If I click on the title “Ipod Sucks” it opens a new page.

http://complaintcentral.net/textpattern404/article/3/ipod-sucks/

but /article/3/ doesn’t exists. It auto creates that but I have noi folders like that.

Is there anyway to make static pages. Just what you see. No links. Make the title static and not clickable.

And how to make “test” go on another seperate page.

Thanks,
ivnj

In the ‘default’ article form you see this:

<h3><txp:permlink><txp:title /></txp:permlink> · <txp:posted /> by <txp:author /></h3>

Take out the <txp:permlink> and </txp:permlink> tags (these are creating the link to the individual article page).

And how to make “test” go on another seperate page.

Change the <txp:article /> tag on the page template to <txp:article limit="1" />.

You can find what all the tags in your forms and pages do (and how you can get them to do what you want) in TextBook.

Re: Links?

Cool thanks,

But now I got 1 more problem. I have 3 articles. On Articles tab they ID 3,6,7. But the home page or home link always shows the latest article and the goes backwards. Is there anyway to keep #3 first on the home page. And then click next for the new article I wrote. Rather then new articles going first and then I have to hit previous to get back to my other articles.

Thanks,
ivnj

Re: Links?

Install the wet_if_page plugin.
Give your article #3 status ‘Sticky’.

Replace <txp:article limit="1" /> with

<txp:wet_if_page page="1">
<txp:article limit="1" status="sticky" />
<txp:else />
<txp:article limit="1" />
</txp:wet_if_page>

(Hope I understood you correctly…)

Re: Links?

Not sure but it’s worth a try.

So I did exactly what you said. Plugin installed fine. This is my default page tab.

http://complaintcentral.net/cex/defaultpage.txt

I replaced what you said as you can see.

But I ge this error.

tag_error <txp:wet_if_page page=“1”> -> Textpattern Warning: unknown_tag: wet_if_page on line 968

Thanks,
ivnj

Re: Links?

Never mind I forgot to activate it. Now the error is gone.

Re: Links?

Cool that actually works. But 2 more problems.

It works but now next and previous links don’t show on the page.

And where do I change the title of the site.

Thanks,

Re: Links?

I figured it out. I deleted the plugin and restored my default page. So back to normal. Then made a sticky. Previous and Next links still disappeared. If I unsticky it the links reappear. So making the sticky causes that. Not sure why.

All I want is one main page that never changes. And then links to the rest in the order I write them.

Or just change the order. Can I just make the articles appear Oldest first and newest second.

Right now if I make an article it shows on the home page. If I make a new one it goes away and the home page shows the new one I just wrote.

Can I just reverse the order. The first article on the home page. And the second article when I click next. Rather than new ones going back to the home page.

Thanks,
ivnj

Re: Links?

It’s a good idea to create a new topic when you’ve got a different, unrelated question. It makes it easier for you to get an answer and it helps anyone else with the same problem too.

However, it’s a good idea to also look at all the answers already available to you first. :)
