Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack

Yes, you can use exclude section for this. When leaving that section the visitor will return to whatever language (s)he was viewing the previous page in. You can probably use <txp:l10n_if_lang> to display your notice.

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack

The exclude section bit works fine: The URL is no longer rewritten. However, the language setting still carries over and no articles are displayed if a user was previously viewing the site in a language other than English. Any ideas?

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack

Hmm… not sure. Is it possible that you have cloned those articles, but left those clones in draft mode? In that case I think you should delete them. Or do you have any conditionals on that page (if_lang)? If none of these are the problem, a workaround could be that you don’t exclude the blog section, you do create clones, but don’t translate them. But my feeling is that such a workaround shouldn’t be necessary, and excluding the section should work…

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack

I cloned all articles now and didn’t translate them. This was the most reliable method, especially, since I am also using a caching plugin. It works perfectly now even though it is a bit more work editing the articles.

Just one question: Is it possible to view the comments for all the different language versions of the article. Perhaps by getting the mlp articleid and custom feeding that into the comment form?

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack

Hi,

I was trying to update Txp to 4.0.8 (with MLP 0.8.7) installed and I think I messed something up and now I get the following error in the admin area:

A problem occured while loading the plugin: l10n -> Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array on line 331 A problem occured while loading the plugin: l10n -> Warning: array_key_exists() [function.array-key-exists]: The second argument should be either an array or an object on line 704 A problem occured while loading the plugin: l10n -> Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array on line 342 A problem occured while loading the plugin: l10n -> Warning: array_keys() [function.array-keys]: The first argument should be an array on line 345 A problem occured while loading the plugin: l10n -> Warning: preg_grep() [function.preg-grep]: Second argument to preg_grep() should be an array on line 345 A problem occured while loading the plugin: l10n -> Warning: array_key_exists() [function.array-key-exists]: The second argument should be either an array or an object on line 704 A problem occured while loading the plugin: l10n -> Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array on line 1422

The admin area opens on the Languages tab and other areas are inaccessible! And the worst thing is that I can’t upload a database dump, because I again get an error, so I need to fix it somehow without re-uploading the database from file…

Any suggestions welcome on how to fix this.

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack

Have anyone seen this behaviour:

1) Lang A is used
2) Go to page listing your categories
3) Select a category
4) Select some article
5) Switch manually to lang B inside the article
6) Go back to category listing, should still show lang B
7) Select category
8) In my installation browsers switches wrongly back to lang A (showing right category though)

So it remembers the original lang used in the category page when visited first time. This is sub-folder installation, but is this problem seen in root installations too?

Downgrade to 4.0.7. It has been reported that MLP has issues with 4.0.8.

No, it doesn’t happen in my root install (4.0.7 and 0.9.11). Must be one of the still existing subfolder problems…

The problem with 4.0.7 is you have to face another serious bug which affects section_list as a container tag as well as category_list and category so in my case I’m stuck: version 4.0.8 doesen’t work with MLP but I can’t downgrade to 4.0.7 because I need to use heavily the “category_list” tag.
I really don’t want to bother Steve but I hope it will be fixed soon.

In my 4.0.7 install I replaced taghandlers.php with the fixed one (r3037), and the bug is gone :)

Thank you Els, I’ll try as soon as possible. Don’t know why I was sure this bugfix was the cause of the MLP not working with txp 4.0.8.

Thanks again Els, I’ve downgraded to 4.0.7 and apparently works perfectly now. As a bonus sed_section_fields is working again too.
