Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
The only subdir issue I have with MLP is that the comment function does not work. But let’s not get off track. I hope #1112 can addressed.
• Old Photos of Japan – Japan in the 1850s~1960s (100% txp)
• MeijiShowa – Stock photos of Japan in the 1850s~1960s (100% txp)
• JapaneseStreets.com – Japanese street fashion (mostly txp)

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
Hello Steve,
I’ve just began to use the MLP with txp 4.07 and I have to say it’s working wonderfully.
Consider also I’m trying it in a temporary subdirectory install and so far I had no problems at all.
Also I noticed and appreciated some little improvements like the description labels in the “file “ tab, thank you!
But actually there is a little problem… if I use a code like this:
<txp:linklist sort="category,description asc" />
I get this error:
Tag error: <txp:linklist sort="category, description asc" /> -> Textpattern Warning: Column 'description' in order clause is ambiguous
select *,`l10n_description_en_gb` as `description`, unix_timestamp(date) as uDate from txp_link where 1=1 order by category, description asc
I tried this code on a 4.06 installation (with MLP 0.8.7 and not on a subdirectory) and got the same error.
Is this a bug or I’m doing something wrong?
Thank you as usual for any help

Thank you but it won’t work, the code I posted is indeed unnecessarily complex and actually the problem appears also with <txp:linklist sort="description asc" />
.
Moreover the error message refers explicitly to the use of the term “description”
Thanks anyway for your help…

unfortunately, due to the way the MLP aliases the extra language fields on some tables (txp_link,txp_image,txp_category & txp_file), with wildcard SQL selects (where * is used), you can’t sort using any of the duplicated fields.
In your case, you’ll have to go without sorting on the description — sorry.
Actually, I have just committed an extension of the SQL re-write code so I’ll think about your issue next (this is actually outstanding issue number 006.)

Oops sorry, I totally forgot to check the list…
I’ll find another way then, thank you!

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
hey guys!
Amazing plugin.
One small question: how can one make a language switch on the front-end that keeps the visitor on the same location but with the language part of the URL switched to another language? The MLP demo has such a switch.
So when you’re at
/en/articles/philosophy
And you wan’t to see that in Dutch, the switch would take you to
/nl/articles/philosophy
Thanks in advance!
Edit:
I found the solution, use <txp:page_url /> to retain the current URL.
So, my switch URLs are: /en<txp:page_url /> and /nl<txp:page_url />

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
Jan, I think <txp:l10n_lang_list />
is a better solution. No need to handcode the links.

Incompatibility Issue with MLP
Since the 19th, I have been trying to fix an incompatibility issue between MLP and the plugins ob1_pagination and chh_keywords (see a description of the issue here).
I haven’t been able to fix this yet. Does anybody have any suggestions, or a fix?

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
I’ve just installed TXP 4.0.7 with MLP 0.9.11. I’m having a problem with the language links that are generated. They look like the following:
<li class="en-gb l10n_current"><span dir="ltr">English</span></li>
<li class="nl-nl"><a href="http://jonasdesign.nl/concept/mlp-test2/nl/atom/"><span dir="ltr">Nederlands</span></a></li>
<li class="ru-ru"><a href="http://jonasdesign.nl/concept/mlp-test2/ru/atom/"><span dir="ltr">Русский</span></a></li>
What am I doing wrong? I’ve made renditions for every language…

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
I just visited your site and the links all look fine to me. Each language section shows the same English article that comes with textpattern, but several translatable items were translated. I assume that you have not yet put translations in the sections and MLP snippets. The links you pasted above are for the rss feeds. I am not sure if I understand what your problem is.

I’m sorry to have wasted your time. Somehow the problem disappeared, but I honestly don’t know how. Thanks for the help!
