Page Missing?
Hello,
I have my 404 error message set up to send me an e-mail when someone lands on a non-existent page via a referrer—so I can find dead links, set up redirects, or whatever else needs to happen. But rather consistently with textpattern, I’ve been getting error messages on particular article permalinks when linked to the comment anchor. So for example:
Somebody tried to access the following page, which does not exist.
Referer: http://www.bdhamilton.com/
Missing Page: /articles/anabaptists-and-institutions#comment
So they’re following the comment link directly from my front page, and somehow landing on a 404. The weird thing is, I’ve never been able to reproduce the problem myself. Can anyone think of a way that this could be a fluke? Or is there something buggy happening with clean URLs, accidentally incorporating the #comment into the article name?
Any suggestions would be helpful. My site is bdhamilton.com.

Re: Page Missing?
Proper browsers know that # means anchor, and they won’t include it and anything after it into an HTTP request. The only http-clients I’ve seen that do send # etc. to the server, are badly written bots.

Re: Page Missing?
Ah, I didn’t realize it was checked before being sent—so there goes that guess! Thanks for the help. Any other ideas?
