Search Using Categories (List)

I want the visitors to a website to be able to select from a category list and have returned all the articles that fit that catgeory. The catch is, that I want them to be able to select multiple categories which would create a more focused selection.

As an example, if I have 5 articles (A-E):

Article A: Cat. 1 RED | Cat. 2 BLUE
Article B: Cat. 1 RED | Cat. 2 WHITE
Article C: Cat. 1 RED | Cat. 2 YELLOW
Article D: Cat. 1 RED | Cat. 2 BLUE
Article E: Cat. 1 RED | Cat. 2 BLACK

I want to have appear on my home page all the categories:

RED
WHITE
BLUE
YELLOW
BLACK

Then I want to visitor to be able to multi select, for example RED AND BLUE and have it return Articles A and D.
