How do I change the default sort order of article in the admin area?

I want to permanently change the default sort order of the articles within the articles tab. I found one method of doing it but it was for an old version of Textpattern.

One way is by the txp tags, but I’m sure you already know that.
You could change it by changing the textpattern code, but I wouldn’t know much about that.
