My crack at it

Okay, this is my first whack at Textpattern, I’m hacking away at stuff to add features that I want, let me know what you think!

Site is in development, graphics and css are still being tweaked but this is a general look and feel. Also, the database was imported from an older b2/cafelog script that I had hacked away at for a while, some articles do not have comments enabled.

Re: My crack at it

Thanks dannyb, I am in need of working with the content area a tad, I’ve just been trying to get it to work in all browsers first, I’d rather not use the hack for the position: fixed, but what can you do with IE, lol. I also checked out your site, very, very nice layout & flow, colors are great too!

Re: My crack at it

I wouldn’t worry about IE .. not on a personal site anyway .. from what I understand and I can’t test is that IE just treats it as a regular page with a regular scrollbar … that’s not bad right ?

Re: My crack at it

Danny B, finally got around to the padding on the left, hopefully it flows better albeit a subtle padding change.

Re: My crack at it

I noticed you’re using mootools. In IE your text becomes unreadable because of this. There is a solution, though: add a background-color to your container-div. Then, it will be gone.

Or you could just not worry about IE…

Re: My crack at it

@TNT: I have tested on a Remote Desktop to a server running Windows Server 2003 and have only noticed that Windows without ClearType enabled looks like crap, can you post a screenshot somewhere for me that emulates the problem? So far this has been tested in OS X Safari, Firefox2, Gran Paradiso, Opera, Omniweb & Flock | PC IE6 & Firefox 1.5, Firefox2 without a hitch when I’ve viewed.

Re: My crack at it

hmmm, I wonder if IE just isn’t reading the background: part of the css properly

background: #f5f5f7 url(layout/img_container_top.png) no-repeat;

I’m going to add the line

background-color: #f5f5f7;

just to be sure, but the funny part is that I declare the navigation the same way and IE doesn’t freak out with it, let me know if that solved it TNT & Thanks!

Re: My crack at it

This is what happens now. Not good… I noticed the ‘blog’-thing doens’t show your text the right way, too.

Re: My crack at it

Good job on left padding .. now add some to the right side of the center column … also some padding to the left side of the right column and you are golden ;) !
