Textpattern Favicon

Does anyone have a favicon.ico that is Textpattern specific?

Something like the the official Carver logo on the front page.

Thanks.

Re: Textpattern Favicon

I’ve done an icon for my Textpattern specific search engine for Mozilla / Firefox:
It also serves as a secret mark for the in crowd, as no one will recognise what it depicts without a pre-existing Textpattern infection ;-)

It’s funny you bring that up…I was just wondering it might be nice if textpattern.com had one…all the kids do.

Re: Textpattern Favicon

Just rename favicon.gif to favicon.ico, and you’re set :).

Re: Textpattern Favicon

jm, didn’t think it was that easy, thanks.

Well, I put it up on Textpattern Planet, clear you caches if you still the Debian logo.

It looks fine in Firefox 2.0, Opera 9.02, but IE7 fails to display it for some reason.

Oh noooo! These are very different kind of animals. But you can either:

  1. specify the MIME type of the favicon in the <head> element.
  2. convert the .gif file into a .ico file with most of the commn graphics tools, and there’s even an online tool.

Re: Textpattern Favicon

Used the online tool to convert it and re-uploaded the favicon.ico.

Learn something new everyday.

PS. IE7 likes it now, after I cleared it’s cache.

Re: Textpattern Favicon

That’s because you can’t convert a binary file format by renaming it’s extension. The fact that you seemingly could just points to the forgiving nature of the other browsers.
