Setting up a textpattern Demo

Hi – is there an easy way to set up Textpattern as a demo which resets/clears the user inputed data on a specified timeframe?

Alternatively you may want to try ras_delete_expired

Re: Setting up a textpattern Demo

Other than OSCMS, projects have setup demos for their apps, each doing it a bit differently. They may opt to showcase their systems with more power via plugins or install different looks for it.

The best way I know how to reset the install is to take a snapshot of the database once you have the installation the way you want it. Then via a cron script, drop the database tables and import in the saved snapshot.

On OSCMS it does a database refresh along with the source code also every couple of hours. I did a strech over at OSCMS, helping them out, it’s a bear of a system to keep running.

Thanks for the replies – I’ll have a look at the options :)

I did know about OSCMS – but I wanted something on my site to show clients.
