Search relevance

Is there a way that TXP search result can be sorted by relevance?

I imagine search term in title would be at the top, followed by article with the most repeats of term

Re: Search relevance

It is sorted by relevance, but by title and body together, rather than separate. To do otherwise you’d have to modify both Txp and a db table index.

Re: Search relevance

Thanks for clearing that up Mary… sounds like a real pain in the butt though.

If my client insists on this feature, is this something Team Textpattern could do fairly quickly?

Re: Search relevance

I’m not entirely certain that it would have the effect expected, so I don’t know how long it would take.

Re: Search relevance

Just bumping this as my client is insisting that items with terms in the titles should take precedence in searches

Basically if you search for the word “Network”, then this should be the first entry that pops up in the search..

Is this even doable?
