Upgrading

On the TXP blog, Alex posted a note about upgrading from the old g1.19 version. I have one of these old installations and before I upgrade, wanted to check to see if I needed to do anything special to ensure success or if the basic upgrade instructions are appropriate for such an old version?

Okay … I just upgraded and all appears to be well except for one thing. I’m getting this error on Pre-Flight Check:

clean_url_data_failed:

And when I load my site, I’m getting this line at the top of the page:

Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier ‘E’ in /users/home/eddieg5/public_html/test/textpattern/publish/log.php on line 19

Oh, and all my entries date posted now read like:

%+0000UTC. %467 %2006

It looks like yyou didn’t update all your files. there is no preg_match on line 19 in publish/log.php.

Can you please post your diagnostics.

What are you using to display dates? Which tags with which attributes etc.

As for display dates … this is what my default entry form looks like:

Are you still getting the error for preg_match in txp_log, or is that gone now?

The tags look ok. Can you go to preferences, change the time-formats there, then save, and see if that fixes the problems?

Yes, I’m still getting the error for preg_match at the top of the page. I tried changing the time-formats a couple different times, but still have the same result.

Could something become corrupt in the upgrade? Should I try re-uploading the files?

UPDATE
Okay, I re-uploaded all the TXP files and changed the time-formats, but still the same result. Weird, huh? Diagnostics still read the same with the “clean_url_data_failed: ” still showing as the only red flag in Pre-Flight.

It looks like the site accessible at digitalleap.com/EJ is still the old version of Textpattern. It seems to be installed in /users/home/eddieg5/public_html/test/. There could be some kind of server aliasing going on.

Ah, that was it … the config.php file was referencing an install on /public_html/test/ in stead of /EJ/

Weird, though … as I could login to the EJ version and add content. At any rate, appears be working as designed now.
