validation problem

hi

i have found textpattern recently and i just love it.. i have built my new design with it.. and for my portfolio seciton i have used http://textpattern.net/wiki/index.php?title=Adding_a_Photo_Portfolio_Section guide.

but when i tried to validate my site i am getting this error

“Line 52 column 3: document type does not allow element “p” here; missing one of “object”, “applet”, “map”, “iframe”, “button”, “ins”, “del” start-tag.

<p><img src=“http://domain.com/v2/images/8t.jpg” alt=“alttext” /><.

actully <p> code is automatcially added before thumbs.. that strange and i dont know how to remove it

regards

Re: validation problem

Do you have an URL for the page that demonstrates this problem?

Re: validation problem

That’s pretty simple to fix. Since you’re posting the thumbnail as an excerpt, it gets wrapped in a p tag. <a><p><img /></p></a>. To fix it, there are 2 options:

  1. Turn textile off for excerpts
  2. (easier in the end) Upgrade to the 4.0.4 pre-release (or wait a few days for the final). Then, instead of posting thumbnails as the excerpt, you can just use this in your page template:

<txp:permlink><txp:article_image thumbnail="y" /></txp:permlink>

You’ll need to post an article image in each post, and be sure to have turned auto_append comments off. There’s a tutorial I wrote for creating a photoblog, but if you leave off the comments part, it’ll apply to portfolios.

Re: validation problem

Edit the article -> on the left side: advanced options -> Excerpt markup
But… as Jon-Michael suggests, wait a few days till 4.0.4 is released and use that instead. It’s a recommended upgrade anyway.
