nhn_livecommentpreview: comments broken by server move
I moved a built and tested site to a client’s hosting package with 1&1.
Much fun ensued, especially this…
When I submit a comment, I get a blank content div – at this URL <code>?s=press#txpCommentInputForm</code>
compared to the confirmation message I get from exactly the same site on my own host – which arrives at this URL: <code>?s=press&commented=1#c000031</code>
I use the nhn_livecommentpreview plugin, which bypasses the preview page, but I tried with the default forms as well and still reached a dead end.
Does anyone know why this would happen… and maybe how I could fix it?

Ooh, you’re entirely using the plugin for commenting. You need to contact the plugin author, then.
Renaming the thread subject and moving to plugins…

Well, here is what the plugin author has to say:
The script that skips the preview was created for Textpattern versions lower than 4.0.3. This functionallity has not been updated after some big changes in the comment handling between version 4.0.2 and 4.0.3. So the version you are using is outdated and no longer supported. I’m sorry.
You can use the latest version I you want to have the live preview but you won’t be able to skip the preview anymore.

Thanks Nils, I didn’t know that.
But in this case, I don’t think it’s a plugin-related problem.
I turned off your plugin and reverted to the default forms, but when I hit the ‘preview’ button, I still get a blank content area with this URL : /?s=press#cpreview
Does that suggest anything? I made a new tag trace
Any help appreciated.

If you think you found a bug, please [b]first[/b] update to the most recent version of textpattern (currently 4.0.4). If then you still see the same behaviour, open a new topic in troubleshooting.
On some server-configuration where environment variables were not correctly set by the PHP/CGI config. We work around that usually but didn’t for comments, that’s what you might be seeing here.
