Need a bit of txp code please!!!
Hi guys,
Im badly in need of a bit of textpattern code, I just want to show every article from a section on the page/link for that section, is there a bit of textpattern code I can insert into the page template, so instead of txp: article, I can show all of the articles from each section without creating a seperate page for each one?
I tried posting here already and I didnt get any response at all, I would really appreciate help, I’ve already looked at the faq, and while I found code to display the articles from one section, I dont want to create a different page template for each section either!!

Use a custom article list and make a form that’s just the title/permalink.

Its my first time using textpattern! When you say use a custom article list, what do you mean, and how do I do it?? And then the form bit, I can do I think, I can just change the default one to title and permalink, or is it better to make a new one?

It would be better to make a new form.
also, the article custom list is a tag. Look at the helpers on the left-hand side of the Presentation->Page screen.

Ok, so I want to have a different page/textpattern tag for every section with custom articles?

Not sure if I got you here: Do you mean a list of all article titles from all sections on one page? If so, take a look at how to make an archive page in the textpattern FAQ. Further down the page there are some alternative kinds if archives. You can use this, for instance, to generate a list of articles per section.

Hi there! Thanks for the advice guys, I did get it working.. I think it might not have been working properly since I installed it, as it would only display the body of the most recent article if I viewed a section, and then the other articles in the same section were just links with no body!
I just changed the page titles, and I tweaked the form a bit, and now its correctly just showing every article from the section on the page, which was exactly what I wanted, I think Im getting the hang of the textpattern code and forms now!
