Do you keep all of your default forms?

If not, what ones do you go ahead and delete? I find that I only use a couple of the default ones and the others just sit there. Is there much of a chance that I’ll ever need them? Right now, really the only ones I use are the comment ones, default, and search results. I honestly have not even looked at the others, so couldn’t even tell you what they do.

Re: Do you keep all of your default forms?

Strange, I was just looking at all the forms and wondered why they’re shipped?

Seems a bit confusing to a newbie, I’d rather just see what is being used myself.

Re: Do you keep all of your default forms?

As a non-coder I find it useful to have them there as examples of what can be achieved using forms. Maybe the forum can include a resource / thread listing examples of forms.

Re: Do you keep all of your default forms?

Lately, I’ve been re-using my default forms (only the ones you can’t delete). The main reason is it allows me to leave off the form attribute on most txp tags (ex: txp:article). I still had to create a few though, but I finally (a little slow), realized I could call comments_display, instead of pasting all the comment code into my article form, even if auto_append is off. Another reason to keep the defaults and use conditionals, is less confusion (and scrolling).

BTW, I use 15 forms right now:

Re: Do you keep all of your default forms?

I’ve mentioned this on the dev list before: only a couple of the forms are “optional”, provided as examples to get you started. The rest are required by one tag or another, because they serve as the default form used – these are the ones you can’t delete from the admin interface.

Re: Do you keep all of your default forms?

Yeah, I think I brought this up on the dev list.

It would be better for the default install to just have what is being used, less confusing, at least it was confusing for me at first.

Maybe have a link to a resource page where users can grab new forms, this page can grow over time with more examples. Sort of like we can go to the Textile help page to play.
