r1590 - admin area labels

There has been quite a lot of changes lately in the admin area and I guess there’s more coming.

Should we wait until a certain time to bring up oddities with labels? I’m guessing the language files will eventually get sorted out towards release date.

Re: r1590 - admin area labels

The english ones should be up to date, but if I’ve missed one, let me know.

If we’re talking about translated ones, it’s up to the translators. They probably aren’t aware because the lang server was not working properly (for adding new translations) for a while.

Re: r1590 - admin area labels

OK, on the write tab above the categories it says: sort_display

Another thing I’ve seen is that the header labels are a mix of upper and lower case at times, most evident in the comments tab. Maybe that’s just the way the language file works?

In addition – on the write tab, shouldn’t the Title and Body have labels like the Excerpt?

That’s translated, in both en_gb and en_us; I just double-checked. Make sure you’ve got your language table up-to-date (or maybe some fluke like it needs repairing?).

Dunno, that’s the way it’s always been, I guess because it should be fairly obvious what they’re for? <notextile>*shrug*</notextile> I don’t know if I’m one way or the other on that. Input?

Re: r1590 - admin area labels

Dang, just updated the language file: English (US) 2006-07-24 12:18

Now everything is fine, even the lowercase labels are uppercase.

I looked at my first 4.0.3 install:
English (US)
Nov 1, 05:25 AM
update
Jul 24, 12:18 PM

Does this mean there’s an update and I should update it then?

It feels pretty intuitive as it stands now. On the other side, for the sake of consistency… I wouldn’t bother, at the moment.

Re: r1590 - admin area labels

When your language is ready to update, it says “Update” and the text is a link.

Re: r1590 - admin area labels

I imagine that language files are not version specific, we can update to the latest irregardless of what we are running?

On the labels for the Title and Body, I just brought it up because you’re adding labels to all the side options on the write tab.
