TextPattern Job Board?

Has anyone developed a job board using textpattern?

I have been thinking about the possibilities of this for some time and have searched through the forums quite abit but found nothing. Some good features would be:

The ability for users to create their own, low level login so they can post and edit their own jobs (free).

The ability for job seekers to create their own, low level login so they can post and edit their own resumes (free).

Users that will pay for their access (job agencies, etc.) have the ability to create a paid access based on a membership level (and hook to paypal or google check-out, etc.)

This may be beyond the scope of textpattern….. or not… I wouldn’t be surpised if someone out there has done it….

Anything like this out there? Or any of the above features?

Re: TextPattern Job Board?

The first two (i.e. without the paying) should be possible using manfre’s mem_self_register and mem_moderation plug-ins to allow you to create an HTML form that enters information directly into an article. Use them with separate job seek and job offer section and job-categories and txp to create the listings.

I have been waiting to see if ekwipment will do the job better, though – it’s the job posting system used on css beauty. Unfortunately it’s been ‘coming soon’ for going on half a year by now.

Re: TextPattern Job Board?

I was wondering if there are any updates on this subject. Anyone out there developed a TXP Job Board like this yet?

Yes, check out Jonathan Stubbs’s Snooz Tennis Classifieds Site. It was apparently hard work, but he’s been through the entire process.

Re: TextPattern Job Board?

Yes, I got it working as Jakob says, but the name is Snoooz Tennis, not Snooze! Check that thread for more info, and let me know there if you have any questions.

Re: TextPattern Job Board?

Jonathan and Jakob,

Thank you for your replies. I checked out the site and started going through the thread… This seems to be exactly what I’ve been looking for.

Do you have a list of links of all of the current versions of the plugins that you mentioned— and all of the hacks that need to be performed to get this to do what you want? Otherwise, I can start down that road, document as I go, and ask you questions. Thank you for offering to answer questions along the way.

I very much appreciate your assistance.

Re: TextPattern Job Board?

Best ask in that thread, since the questions are specific to my post there. To answer you quickly, the plugins are all available, but with some small changes to ign_password_protect and glz_custom_fields (but updated in the latest version I believe).

Sorry, Jonathan, I should have looked more carefully. I’ve corrected it above.
