rss_multiple_categories Doesn't Seem to Work

After installing the plugin rss_multiple_categories and enabling it (Active is set to “Yes”), it is not working properly.

The extra, multiple-choice Category select list is added to the “Write” tab. When I write a new article and select some categories (yes, using the “Ctrl” key) they appear to be saved. (Indeed, even if I log out and log back in and access the article directly as though to edit it, my 3 category selections (out of, like, 20) are still highlighted (selected).)

When I “Browse” to a category, an old article from before the plugin install (which I have not edited for more categories) shows up just fine under a category it was assigned.

But for some reason, categories aren’t working on new articles I wrote since the plugin install. If I “Browse” I get taken to a page with no articles in that category.

Hmm…I’m thinking I just shouldn’t do the “prefix” thing on install. I think maybe the plugin is not using my prefixed tables correctly, but I really don’t have a clue. For multiple installs, you can always set up new databases anyway (in fact, I think you intuitively would), so why bother with “prefixes”?

If there’s some solution or bug anyone knows of, feel free to answer. I’ll test a new install without prefixes and see what happens. But right now I’m tired, I need to take a nap. Maybe “prefixes” should no longer be recommended for multiple installs, if they can interfere with plugins…I feel like, now that I think about it, there’s no need for them.

G’night!

Re: rss_multiple_categories Doesn't Seem to Work

Take a look at the help information for the plugin. Click on your Admin tab, then on Plugins and click on help for rss_unlimited_categories. This should explain how to use the plugin. I think you’ll need to use something like rss_unlimited_categories_list to display articles.
