close comments
Is there a way to close comments, instead of turning them off and then deleting them?
I recall this subject came up before, maybe a few months ago, but I can’t find any information on it….

OK…
I’ve got articles running at the moment, with commenting switched ‘on’.
I want to switch the comments ‘off’, but without deleting the comments already received……

Switching comments ‘off’ for an article doesn’t delete already existing comments. Is it possible that you think it does because you have your comments inside an if_comments_allowed conditional? (that would make them disappear on switching them ‘off’.

As far as I know, its a basic configuration so if what you say is correct, thats the problem solved.
I didnt realise it was that simple ;)
