now Matthew…you of all people know that the only time I go outside is when football or beer is involved…..

And it’s even more likely if it involves both.

Re: wlk_mp

I made the documentation a little more readable and updated plugin itself just a little so that you can specify it in a form and not worry about it outputting error codes or anything if you don’t happen to want to have any images attached to a particular order.

To phrase another way: It only outputs something if you specify images. If you do not, there is no error. There is nothing.

Re: wlk_mp

Well done, haven’t tried this yet, but red the article.(The site of the original author of the code is also an interesting Resource for articles about SEO)
Just a small notice. The first three digits of the plugin name are four digits and not three (letters) as usually suggested by the original plugin template.
(That makes it easier to match those tags with regular expressions, when working on templates in external text editors)
It is not explicitly mentioned, but like an unwritten naming convention.
(This would allow already for more then 17.000 potential plugin authors )

regards, marios

Re: wlk_mp

Oh this was very fast. Excellent job.

Haven’t tried it yet, but looking at your documentation is there a way to add support for image categories instead of indicating the individual ids of images?

best,
Christian

Re: wlk_mp

I’ll see what I can do, cnolle.

@marios….hmmm, I had no idea that was a rule. If so, I never saw anyone write somewhere that it was a rule. If I’d known ahead of time, I would have made it three, but now that they’re already there…..I’ll leave it.

Re: wlk_mp

Looks very good! Any plans to include a pop-up function to display full-size pics?

Re: wlk_mp

Thanks. And yes. I was already annoyed by the lack of pop-up once today.

Re: wlk_mp

Walker, great job, and yeah, fast dude. ;) As soon as I have a reason to use this one, I will.

I’d like to get this into the plugin archive, but with a look to the future I want to poke this soft cheese a bit more…

Walker wrote: I had no idea that was a rule. If so, I never saw anyone write somewhere that it was a rule. If I’d known ahead of time, I would have made it three, but now that they’re already there…..I’ll leave it.

You’re right, there was no written rule, and an unwritten rule is no rule at all unless we’re talking about the mafia. ;)

Your feelings about sticking with four letters is your own; certainly isn’t an issue with me. However, what if because of this discussion it now becomes a written rule, and you decide to create a few more plugins in the future. You’ll then have some inconsistency in the way your plugins are named, which won’t be great for immediate plugin author recognition. Again, not critical but something to think about.

Your plugin is new, it’s certainly not too late to change the name if you wanted to ensure consistency in your work later.

At any rate, it’s up to you, just let me know what you want to stick with so I know whether or not to add the plugin to the archives with the current name.

Again, great work.

Re: wlk_mp

To protect ourselves from the danger of further mafia shootings, may I recommend the following support article ?

Re: wlk_mp

Nice examle on your site, Walker. One question off the top of my head…is that the only output arrangment at the moment? Can a person rearrange the display of the image a bit? It might be nice if you could choose from…say…4 or 5 pre-configured image arrangements as desired, or make it easier for someone to do so on the fly. That way a person could mix it up a bit from article to article.

Makes me think of the Hulk movie, and how Ang Lee used random-displayed grids to output the same scene in different frames at once; some larger, some smaller, and kind of staggered around (though always in a grid)…the helicopter scene is on that comes to mind. I always thought how cool it was he did that; retaining the real comic book grid concept. If we could throw in a few more preconfigured arrangements (and picture numbers), that would be sweeeeeet! I have a project coming up for a comic author, this could be a fun thing to try out for that.

This plugin has a LOT of potential.
