Customizable Admin Interface

I’m not sure if this has been discussed, or even how feasible it would be. But I’ve noticed that the more I use TXP for various projects, the more I need something a little extra.

For example, I’m working with a site now that has main content flowing down the middle of the page with the standard title and body, but I also have sidebar content that changes from page to page and the fields under the main “Write” tab aren’t necessarily what I need. Custom Fields are a wonderful thing, but I was thinking how great it would be to somehow be able to create a customizable interface for various parts of the website. Even if it’s just a way to add and remove fields, dropdowns, etc for customized content. To me, that would make it less confusing for clients to manage their site after I hand it off to them.

Possible? I have no freakin’ clue. It would be really cool though.
