This topic comes from here where is a plugin request for a randomly article rotation …
After downloading the .zip file and installing the plugin make sure you read the plugin help or the README file it comes with it !!!!
So here I am !!! In order to do things well and put them in order, here is the topic of my plugin for a randomly article rotate every hour/day/week/month. So far there are four versions of it:- Few parameters; nasty help (without examples :-S) (the lack of experience….)
- Updated the plugin, added the category, the section and the author too. So you can specify any of them too. Also improved the help, thanks Rigel for showing me the path …. and Mariano, you were right (of course) …..
So, I hope It gets more useful now; just a little bit more customizable. - New update; in this case since the (file=“a_file_name”) param is been introduced; you can use several instances of the plugin in the same page, by passing diferent file names on each of those instances, since every one would use a diferent .txt file; if you don´t pass this param it will create and use default.txt for single instances users. Colak sugestion
- New update; in this case since the (ids=“x,y…n”) param is been introduced; you can preselect the articles you want to rotate by this parameter; just separate the values with comma (,); don’t leave blank spaces, and since the status param default value is 4, if you pass id numbers of sticky articles, make sure you pass status=“5” also ;-)

First version. You can download a .zip file which contains:
- lhg_article_rotate – v2.0.txt
- README v2.0.txt
Second version (Just improved a little bit the plugin’s help) containing:
- lhg_article_rotate – v.2.1.txt
- README v.2.1.txt
The Third Version
This time the plugin has a ‘file’ parameter which tells the plugin the name of the file to use; so you can use several instances of the plugin on a same page!! Just pass diferent files names on each instance of the plugin
containing:
- lhg_article_rotate – v.3.0.txt
- README v.3.0.txt
So I hope the plugin helps all of you with your sites; I´ll be around and don´t doubt on asking me or contacting me for any doubt or question.
The Fourth Version
This time the plugin has an ‘ids’ param which allows you to pass the id numbers you want to rotate; just in case you don’t want to rotate all the articles in the DB ;-)
containing:
- lhg_article_rotate – v.4.0.txt
- README v.4.0.txt
So I hope the plugin keeps helping all of you with your sites; I´ll be around and don´t doubt on asking me or contacting me for any doubt or question.

Great plugin, but could you add some field to specify ID that I want to rotate.
lide ID=“5,8,78,25” So I want to rotate only these four articles…

That wouldn’t be a problem; give me a few days and I’ll see what can I do about it.
I don’t have much time but let me see.

Is this plugin still available somewhere?? Seems exactly what I need but those downloads don’t appear to be available anymore and this plugin seems to be Perfect for what I need!
